How To Survive The Caribbean

Have you ever been to the Caribbean and got the life beaten out of you for insulting Bob Marley?

Or did you ever turn a fabulous hot pink colour because you forgot to wear sunscreen?

Were you harassed by a highly persistent street vendor that insisted on selling you a straw hat for $100US?

Well all of that could of, and can be avoided if you read my new blog on 'How To Survive The Caribbean'

Hello my name is James Marcelle. Expert at all things Caribbean. If you are reading this then most likely you are planning a trip to the Caribbean  or you are already here and you want to know what you did wrong. Either way I'm hear to help. I'm going to show you what you'll need, what to expect, the do' and don'ts, what to do in case of certain situations and help you understand the local slang.

1. So first things first. Let's talk about what you need. It is very important that you pack light clothing or you will roast inside your cloths and just make an utter fool of yourself. Surprisingly, although this is such a seemingly fundamental concept, it is a fatal mistake that many tourist make, and even some Caribbean locals themselves.

2. Always remember to wear sunscreen. EVERYWHERE. Even in shade, as even in there it's 96 degrees.

3. Surprisingly, regardless of what currency is used in the different Caribbean islands, people working in the tourism industry rather accept the American Dollar. So make sure you don't convert all you're money into that islands currency, but rather have some US.

4. Always have your camera on you as the Caribbean truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and it's not just the breathtaking scenery, but also the wonderful people.

5. Last but definitely not least, you want to get yourself a backbone because contrary to popular believe, not everybody from the Caribbean is friendly, and there are some people that will push you to the extreme to buy something you don't want, and you've got to be able to say NO!
